Mindful Vision Quest

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Mindful Vision Quest at mindfulvisionquest.info. By using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

The site publishes educational information about age-related vision symptoms. It isn't a medical service and doesn't provide diagnosis or treatment.

What this page covers

A plain-language summary of the eleven parts below. Each link jumps to the full wording further down this page.

Current version published on this page

Educational information only. Not a diagnosis, and not a substitute for an eye examination.

Urgent symptoms

When to stop reading and get seen

Most age-related vision change is gradual, and that is exactly why it is easy to put off. A few situations are different. Sudden vision loss, eye pain, a new burst of flashes or floaters, or a shadow that moves across part of your vision are reasons to seek medical attention promptly instead of comparing symptoms on a website.

The same applies if one eye has changed while the other has not, or if reading, driving, or recognizing faces has become noticeably harder over a short period. Those patterns are not something this site can interpret for you.

For everything else, the sections below explain what the site is for, what you may do with the content, and how we handle the material we publish. Read the terms as they apply to you, and use the contact page if a clause needs clarification.

The terms, section by section

Each numbered heading below is part of the agreement. Nothing here overrides rights you hold under applicable law, including consumer protection rules.

1. Purpose of the site

The site provides general information about age-related vision changes, common eye conditions, eye examinations, and practical adjustments for daily living. Content is written for a general audience, and for adults in Indonesia in particular, including readers who are weighing whether a change is worth an appointment.

Nothing on the site is medical advice for an individual case, and nothing here creates a clinical relationship between you and Mindful Vision Quest. Reading a page, bookmarking it, or quoting it does not make the site part of your care.

The material also assumes a general reader rather than a clinician. Where we describe a symptom or an examination step, we are describing what is commonly reported and commonly checked, not what you specifically have.

2. No medical advice

Content is general and educational. It cannot account for your medical history, your examination findings, your medications, or your individual circumstances. Always consult a qualified eye care professional about symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and when to be seen again.

If you experience sudden vision loss, eye pain, new flashes or floaters, or a shadow across your vision, seek medical attention promptly rather than relying on information from this site. Those symptoms can point to conditions where waiting changes the outcome.

The site also does not provide emergency guidance, second opinions, or reviews of test results or scans. If you need any of those, contact a clinic or hospital directly.

3. Acceptable use

You may read the site, share links to it, and quote briefly from it with attribution to Mindful Vision Quest. Attribution means naming the site and, where practical, the page you quoted.

You may not copy substantial portions of the content, republish pages wholesale, present our wording as your own, or use the content commercially without permission. That includes translating a full page and publishing it elsewhere.

You may not attempt to disrupt the site, access restricted areas, probe the infrastructure, or use automated tools in a way that places unreasonable load on it. If you are planning a large research project that uses the content, ask us first and we will say what is possible.

4. Intellectual property

Text and original materials on this site are the property of Mindful Vision Quest unless stated otherwise. That covers written explanations, page structure, captions, and any original graphics we produce.

Names and marks of third parties remain the property of their owners and appear only for identification. Nothing on the site grants a licence to use our name or material for your own products or services.

5. Accuracy and updates

We aim for accuracy and review content periodically. Medical understanding and clinical guidance develop over time, and a page that was correct when written may become out of date. We do not warrant that every page reflects the most recent guidance at all times.

We may update, replace, or remove content without notice, including pages you have bookmarked or linked to. If you cite the site in your own material, check the page again before you publish.

7. Limitation of liability

The site is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of the site or reliance on its content, including decisions made after reading a page.

This does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. Where a jurisdiction gives you rights that override a clause here, those rights apply.

8. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy. How the site uses cookies and similar storage is described in our cookie policy. Both documents form part of your agreement with us when you use the site.

Reading these terms does not replace reading those two pages, and if they change we will update them in the same way we update this page.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always available on this page, and continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.

If a change affects what you are allowed to do with the content, we will make that clear in the wording rather than quietly editing a sentence. This page always shows the version in force.

Common questions about these terms

The questions readers send most often, answered in the same plain wording as the sections above.

Can I quote this site in my own article or class?

Yes, with attribution to Mindful Vision Quest and, where practical, the page you used. Keep the quotation brief and do not present the material as your own. Republishing a full page, or translating one and publishing it elsewhere, needs permission first.

Do these terms mean the site has reviewed my situation?

No. Using the site does not create a clinical relationship, and nothing published here is medical advice for an individual case. General explanations about symptoms, examinations, and daily adjustments cannot replace an examination by a qualified eye care professional.

What if something I read here is out of date?

Tell us through the contact page, naming the page and the passage. We review content periodically rather than continuously, so feedback helps us prioritise which pages to check next. We may update, replace, or remove content without notice.

Do I need to accept cookies to read the site?

The pages themselves are readable without signing in or submitting anything. Cookies and similar storage are described in our cookie policy, and how personal data is handled is described in our privacy policy. Both are worth a look if you plan to contact us.

Where can I read more about vision changes after 50?

The Vision Symptoms Guide is the broadest starting point. From there, Normal Aging vs Eye Disease covers how ordinary change differs from a condition, and Eye Exam & Treatment Basics explains what an examination involves.

Keep reading after the terms

The terms cover how you use this site. The guides cover what the site is actually here for: making sense of vision change after 50, and knowing when an appointment is the better next step.
